這次我們來看看 Windows Media Player 12 吧，Windows Media Player 仍然是 Windows中的一個重要組件，本以為 Zune 會代替 Windows Media Player，題外話：Zune軟體的社會化功能確實挺有意思的，比如：Zune 的 Social Card，和 MixView 都很不錯。
Windows Media Player 12 的界面恐怕是最顯著的變化了，與 Windows 7 的界面已經很統一了，相對 11 更簡潔，顏色更輕亮。

Windows Media Player 12 中已經將正在播放 Now Playing 和音樂庫 Library 兩種視圖模式分離了。在Now Playing 中，包含視覺特效，播放列表，音樂/視訊。而 Library 中則是只有音樂/視訊管理操作功能。

Windows 7 中的任務欄 Taskbar 新功能介紹中也已經介紹了 Windows Media Player 12 的 Taskbar Previews 和 Jump Lists 特性，具體可以去原文查看。
除了正在播放 Now Playing 和音樂庫 Library 兩種視圖模式分離之外，還有一些很不錯的小功能，比如：鼠標停留時，15 秒音樂預覽；音樂、視訊和照片三類分類同時顯示在左邊（11 中，只能顯示其中一項）。

Windows Media Player 12 支持 H.264 視訊、AAC 音頻、Xvid 和 DivX 視訊，以及 WindowsMedia Player 11 已經支持的格式。這意味著，在 Windows 7 中，我們基本可以用 Windows Media Player12 播放主流的格式了，無需自己另外下載解碼器了。
Windows Media Player 12 還支持瀏覽本地網路中其他用戶的 iTunes 音樂庫，但蘋果沒有將其 FairPlay DRM 授權給第三方，因此 WMP 12 不支持 DRM 保護的 iTunes 內容。
Amanda 介紹了 Windows 7 的新特性 : Libraries 和 HomeGroup，其實 WMP 12 針對HomeGroup 也新增了一個叫作 Play To 的功能，用戶可以在 HomeGroup 中的其他電腦上播放自己電腦中的多媒體內容。

同樣，Play To 也支持 Digital Living Network Alliance v1.5 設備，功能和上面介紹的類似，但如果該設備無法識別文件格式，WMP 會自動轉碼。

與 Windows Live Essentails 類似，Windows Media Player 也是微軟提升 Windows 7 用戶體驗的重要產品。Windows 7 目前為止給人的印象是不錯的。
