本片改編自CNN首席駐地記者傑克泰普，深入險境採訪著作【被遺忘的前哨(The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor)】
戰線的末端，沒人相信竟然會建立這座前哨站，北面、西面和南面被興都庫什山脈環繞，距離巴基斯坦國界僅15英裏。在與世隔絕的阿富汗國度，這個前哨站是國度最偏僻的哨點。
